Vitas: City doesn't need 2 assistant managers

The city of Key West won't hire an assistant city manager once David Fernandez retires from that job July 3, according to City Manager Bob Vitas.

Instead, Vitas said he plans to abolish the assistant's job and create a new one that reports to newly hired Assistant City Manager Sarah Spurlock, who oversees the city's financials.
