Local writer honored

Eddie Goldstein is the winner of the 2014 writing award from the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, in conjunction with the Key West Writers Guild, and received a cash prize.

Goldstein was honored for his novel "Counterfoot - A Schwartz Private Eye Novel."

Past winners include Joanna Brady Schmida, Richard DeGrasse and Harry Schroeder.

Local writers with works in progress are encouraged to apply for the 2015 award. Applicants must be a resident of Monroe County, a member of the Key West Writers Guild, and must be working on a novel or a work of nonfiction.
