• Vice ring members operating out of a hotel in Key West were fined $1,250 and sent to jail for 90 days.

• The state Beverage Board issued an order to revoke the license of the Habana Madrid Club at 431 Front St.

• Capt. Richard Clark of the Salvation Army spoke at the Key West Lions Club meeting about the Salvation Army's Camp Keystone.

• Cecil Toye was installed as commander of the Marathon Memorial Post 154 of the American Legion.

• The Key West Planning and Restoration Commission tried to fine as many as 200 homeowners who were not paying their sewer connections.
