FDLE releases investigative reports into Eimers death

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) sent Monroe County State Attorney Catherine Vogel its investigative reports into the death of Charles Eimers Thursday afternoon. A grand jury will review the reports during its July 21, 22 and 23 deliberations as to whether anyone with the Key West Police Department is criminally liable in Eimers' death.

Eimers, 61, formerly of Michigan, died at Lower Keys Medical Center on Dec. 4, six days after losing consciousness following an incident with police. He was being detained by police when he passed out after a chase that ended at South Beach.
