A man aboard the freighter vessel C.S. Calvina was medically evacuated Wednesday night 25 miles south of Marathon, according to the Coast Guard.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received a report of a 43-year-old man needing urgent medical care. After consulting with the flight surgeon, an aircrew with Coast Guard Air Station Miami launched.
The aircrew arrived on scene, hoisted the man from the 620-foot vessel and transported him to Fisherman's Hospital in Marathon. There was no further reported information about his condition.
