A Pembroke Pines man was airlifted Monday afternoon after losing control and flipping a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo while traveling north on U.S. 1 at Mile Marker 80, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.
The SUV took down power lines and struck a parked, but unoccupied 2005 Chrysler as well as a boat trailer near the Sands of Islamorada Oceanfront Resort, 80050 Overseas Highway, Islamorada.
The driver of the Isuzu, Justin Soccoras, 19, was ejected and pinned under the vehicle. He was conscious and alert when responders arrived and before being airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami.
Passenger Jordan Lane, 21, had minor injuries and was not transported.
