Homeless man calls police

A drunk homeless man called the police Friday to report a resident had harassed him, including slapping his head, for no reason, an incident report said.

Police interviewed the resident, who denied touching the man, who he added walks down his lane often, is always rude and has done things like urinate along his home's fence and pass out among beer cans on the pavement.

Asked by the police to change routes, the homeless man, 52, said he'd think about it.

"He stated he should be able to walk down any street and Dey Street is his shortcut from the panhandling zone (at Mallory Square) to the store with the cheapest beer," Officer Brenda Sellers reported.
