Giselda (Gisi) Osborne, 84, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on July 18, 2014. Gisi was born September 13, 1929, in Key West, Fla., to the late Carlos and Grace Calleja. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, William E. Osborne, and her brother Carlos Calleja.

Gisi attended Brevard Community College and Florida State University. She retired from Brevard County Public Schools in 1991 while serving as cafeteria manager of Turner Elementary.

She is survived by her sister Hortensia "Tenchy" (Erasto) Perez and brother Dr. John (Alice) Calleja, of Key West. Her children Catherine (Michael) Moore, Victoria Champion, Debra (Walter) Burrows and Ed Osborne. All reside in Melbourne.

Her many grandchildren include Barbara (Dave Wilkerson) Whiting, Walter "JR" (Billie Jo) Burrows, Rebecca (Timothy) Thibert, Stephen (Nina) Champion, Michael D. Moore (deceased), Christopher Burrows, Catalina Moore, Aurora Moore, Anna Osborne and William Osborne. Great-grandchildren include Dalton, Kaleb, Malcolm, Isaiah, Ryan, Tyler, Alex and Kira.

Calling hours are from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 and the service will commence at 6 p.m. at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home of Melbourne.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Florida Wildlife Hospital, Gisi will be laid to rest, with her parents, in Key West, Fla.
