Scooter-related felony charge

A Stock Island man went to jail Monday after deputies said he collected his scooter from a repair shop without permission and without paying.

James Whitley, 48, was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary, fraud and misdemeanor theft.

Whitley brought his scooter to Island Scooters for repairs and rented another from the shop for four days, deputies said...
