CEO elected to statewide agency

Managers and public officials from municipal electric utilities throughout Florida elected six of their own to lead a statewide power agency in 2014-2015. Elections for the Florida Municipal Power Agency's Board of Directors (FMPA) took place at the Agency's annual meeting in Naples on July 18.

Lynne Tejeda, general manager and CEO of Keys Energy Services (KEYS) in Key West, was re-elected secretary. She was appointed as KEYS' alternate to the Board of Directors in 2005 and as a member of the Board in 2013. She has served on the Executive Committee since 2005. She is also Chair of FMPA's Conservation and Renewable Energy Advisory Committee, of which she is a founding member.

Other elected included Bill Conrad, mayor of Newberry, as Chair of the Board; Barbara Quiñones, director of Electric Utilities of Homestead Public Services as vice chair; and William Thiess, director of Utilities of Fort Pierce Utilities Authority as treasurer.
