Waldon named outstanding employee
Dane'lle Waldon recently was named Keys Energy Services' (KEYS) outstanding employee of the third quarter for 2014.
Waldon has worked for the utility for more than seven years and currently serves as a customer service representative, helping customers connect, disconnect and transfer their service, while also assisting with billing complaints and payment processing.
Waldon previously held the position of payment processing representative.
She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and moved to the Florida Keys in 2000. She lives in Key West with her husband, Darrell, and has three children.
The utility's Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on factors that include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative and job performance.
The Utility Board will recognize Waldon at its Aug. 19 meeting.
Keys FCU honors and promotes
Keys Federal Credit Union recently recognized Julie Young for 15 years of dedication and service to our members. Young began her career at Keys FCU in 2000 as a member service representative. She was promoted to branch manager in 2007. Then in 2011 Young decided to become a charter boat captain and spend part of her work life on the water. At that time, she began working as a part-time teller and member service representative and has never looked back.
Keys Federal Credit Union also recently promoted Gisselle Garcia to member service representative in the local call center. Garcia began her career as a teller.
She was born in Cuba and immigrated to upstate New York with her family when she was 5. Garcia visited her grandmother in Key West every year and finally moved here with her family in 2010.
The credit union also promoted Leticia Cabrera to consumer loan specialist.
Originally from Miami, Cabrera moved to the Keys with her parents 25 years ago. She enjoys Crossfit training and boating with her husband and their boxer named Legend. Prior to joining Keys Federal Credit Union, Cabrera worked in customer service and corporate banking.
Finally, Mimi Wallace was promoted to call center team leader.
She started with the credit union as an intern while still in high school and has been part of the KFCU team for more than eight years. Over the past four years Wallace has excelled at helping members achieve their financial goals. Her banking knowledge, member relationships and member service skills make her the perfect candidate to lead the local call center.
Wallace was born and raised in Key West. She is married with two children and enjoys swimming, boating and watching her son play football and baseball.
