Linda Diane Welsh of Key West, Fla. passed away on August 7, 2014.

Born on December 6, 1953, Linda graduated Cherry Hill East High School and received degrees from Glassboro State College and Florida International University. Linda was married to John J. Welsh since 1974.

She worked as an educator for the Monroe County School District for 36 years as a classroom teacher and as a Child Find Specialist, screening Pre-K students for special needs.

Linda is preceded in death by her mother Virginia (Ginny) Scarbrough and father William P. Scarbrough.

She is survived by her husband John Welsh; sons John Welsh (Leslie), Avondale, Ariz. and Stephen Welsh, Key West; brothers and sisters Patricia Mebs, Pensacola, Fla.; Kathleen Bonds, Pensacola, Fla.; William Scarbrough, Laguna Niguel, Calif. and Tom Scarbrough, Biglerville, Pa.; and grandchildren Elisabeth and Johnny Welsh, Avondale, Ariz.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at 3 p.m. at the 5th Street Baptist Church, 1311 Fifth St., Key West.
