Mariners Hospital has received a 2014 Excellence in Patient Care Award from the Studer Group, a healthcare consulting firm that works with hundreds of hospitals and organizations to improve clinical, service and operational outcomes. Mariners officials accepted the award Thursday at the annual What's Right in Health Care conference.
The award recognizes the hospital's outstanding performance in patient care, particularly in the area of nurses' communications with patients. Mariners was selected based on achievement, improvement and overall outstanding performance in patient satisfaction, as measured by federal surveys that measure patient satisfaction at hospitals across the country and provides a national standard for collecting and publicly reporting information about patients' perspectives on hospital care.
"This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our employees and physicians. It is an indication of our commitment to providing our patients with the safest, highest quality healthcare in the Keys," said Rick Freeburg, Mariners Hospital CEO.
