No more blue signs

Those blue signs in New Town listing various businesses along North Roosevelt Boulevard will soon be construction history, a city spokeswoman said Tuesday.

With the completion of the state's $41.5 million reconstruction of the boulevard and replacement of the water main, drainage system and seawall, the signs are no longer needed, said city spokeswoman Alyson Crean.

The city and state added the signs to Flagler Avenue and Northside Drive in October 2012 as a way to direct drivers to the boulevard, which at the time was restricted to one-way traffic.
