Local agency nabs cocaine

Some $37 million in cocaine -- 3,317 pounds -- was seized this month by authorities, led by the Truman Annex-based Joint Interagency Task Force South.

The task force was aided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.

A go-fast vessel was detected about 135 miles east of Panama. Two Coast Guard cutters arrived at the scene to find suspected smugglers dumping bales overboard, reports state.

Four suspects were detained in the operation.

Colombian Navy vessels also took part in the operation.
