New deal: Trash hike $2 a year, not $37

City commissioners plan to make good on their promise to deflate a residential trash bill hike set to cost Key West property owners an extra $37 a year starting Jan. 1.

On Wednesday, the commission is set to consider an amendment to the trash pickup contract with Waste Management approved May 11 in a split decision that rejected staff's advice on changing vendors.
