JOYCE ANN PEREZ

Joyce Ann Perez, 77, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Lower Keys Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Joyce was born March 29, 1932, in Key West, the daughter of Alton and Helen (Hollerich) Parks. She was a lifetime resident of Key West and a graduate of the Convent of Mary Immaculate in 1950. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, devoting much of her life to the needs of the St. Josephs School as librarian and St. Mary's School librarian. She helped run the cafeteria at Mary Immaculate High School for many years. Joyce also worked at the Key West Naval Exchange for several years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Mary's Church, the Adoration Chapel and the St. Mary's soup kitchen. Joyce also was a Pink Lady at Lower Keys Medical Center and the bookkeeper at the Coral Isle Trailer Park.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, preceded in death by her parents, her loving aunt, Anna Hollerich, and her brother, Robert Parks.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joe L. Perez; one daughter, Joli Ann Perez of Key West; three sons, Jesse (Dina) Perez of Tampa, Fla., Jody Perez of Key West and JoJo Justin (Lourdes) Perez of Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Dickie Richard (Mary) Parks of Homestead, Fla., and George (Sandy) Parks of Apopka, Fla.; and her loving sister, Bernadette Parks Lannon of Lakeland, Fla.; and her three grandchildren, Trina and husband Ricky, Jesse Joseph Perez and wife Barbara, and Jazlynn Perez.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 15, 2009, in the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Key West City Cemetery. Dean-Lopez Funeral Home entrusted with all arrangements.
