Keith Allen Barker
Keith Allen Barker, 65, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on July 11, 1944, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Frank and Grace (Bennett) Barker.
On June 15, 2007, he married Harriet Tully in Bellefontaine and she survives. Also surviving is a son, Brent (Dana) Barker of Carson City, Mich.; Derek (Jacqui) Norman and children, Kara and Emma, of Big Pine Key, Fla., who has been like a son for many years; brother, Bill (Elda) Barker of San Diego, Calif.; sisters Rosemary (Chuck) Barton, Nancy (Bob) Henry, both of Bellefontaine, and Alice (Doug) Baughman of De Graff, Ohio; and grandchildren Eden Lance, Roslyn Melody and Bryna Skylar.
Keith was a teacher and taught school in Key West for 28 years and in Columbus, Ga., for two years. He was a member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine and a graduate of Bellefontaine High School in 1962. In 1971 he graduated from Anderson College in Anderson, Ind., where he played football all four years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and anything to do with the water.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at the First Church of God in Bellefontaine with Pastor Ray Headings and Pastor C.J. Plogger officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service at the church.
