ZOILA MIRA

Zoila Mira, 93, passed away July 12, 2012 peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family and several close friends. She is now in heaven with her heavenly father and son Jesus Christ. Zoila was born in Key West and lived here the majority of her life. She did move to New York City between the 1960s and 1990s where she lived and worked as a seamstress in the New York City Garment District. In her earlier years she worked in Key West at S.H. Kress for more than 10 years, upon returning to Key West she worked at the Banyon Resort.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felicia and Ignacio Bode, her husband Gabriel Mira, her uncle Mario Mora, brother Enrique Rojas and special cousin Eva Valdez. She is survived by her brother Ignacio Bode, her one and only daughter Orchid Mira, three grandchildren Ramond Morales Jr. (Shawna), Mark Morales and the apple of her eye, Michelle Morales. She is also survived by her godchild Cindy Spencer (Robert), her children Edward Jr, Laura, and Felicia Spencer, and a host of lifelong friends, including Betty Espinosa, Walter Frank, Vince Mancini, Ted and Lucy DeRochi and Joseito and wife and family.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 in the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home Chapel, 418 Simonton St., Key West. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. in the Dean-Lopez Chapel. Burial will follow in the Key West City Cemetery.
