Clementina I. (Clem) De Palma
Clementina I. (Clem) De Palma of Key West, Fla.; formerly of Lima, Ohio died Oct. 28, 2012, at Brookdale Place, Willow Lake, in Indianapolis. She was born March 3, 1922 in Clarksburg, W.V.,the daughter of William P. and Mary Mancino D'Andrea.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Philip N. De Palma and brothers William P. and Vincent D'Andrea. In 1953 Clementina was named the Lima, Ohio "Mother of the Year" after rescuing her infant son John from a burning house fire at great risk to her own life.
In 1976 Clementina retired after managing the family restaurant for 16 years. She was an active member of St. Gerard Catholic Church of Lima, Ohio where she served for 10 years as the president of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include four sons, Philip N. (Carol) De Palma of Westfield, Ind.; Ralph W. (Barbara) De Palma of Key West, Fla.; John V. De Palma of Cleveland, Ohio; Michael J. (Brenda) De Palma of Kansas, Mo., 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 8 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio.
