First State honors Mench
Charlie Mench, First State Bank of the Florida Keys corporate services representative was named the employee of the quarter for his professionalism, initiative, work ethic and positive attitude.
Mench joined First State in 2003 and has held numerous positions including deposit risk analyst, wire room manager and loan projects administrator before assuming his current role.
"Charlie's nomination reflects his initiative, commitment and dedication to serving First State Bank and our valued customers," said Vice President Diane Gibson.
Mench is actively involved with the Key West community. He is an avid volunteer at bank-sponsored events and serves on the board of the Key West Attractions Association.
Sarver marks 20 years at KFCU
Keys Federal Credit Union recently recognized Laura Sarver for 20 years of dedicated service. Sarver joined KFCU in 1992 as a teller. Over the years, she has excelled at various positions including assistant supervisor of transaction services, assistant branch manager, manager of branch operations and branch manager. Sarver is currently a skilled IT host administrator.
Originally from Chicago, she relocated to the Keys in 1974 to enjoy boating, swimming and fishing. Sarver has received several awards during her tenure at Keys Federal Credit Union such as employee of the year, supervisor of the year and an internal quality service award.
Zonta honors Evans
Zonta recently named Sarah Evans as the November Zontian of the Month.
Evans has been a member of Zonta for a little more than a year and has been very involved in the club's two major fundraisers, Media Zonta Day and the ABC 5K Walk/Run. The fundraisers raise money to award scholarships to high school women and assist with mammogram fees for uninsured women in the Lower Keys.
Sugarloaf KOA receives award
The Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA campground recently received the 2013 KOA President's Award from Kampgrounds of America, the world's largest system of family-friendly campgrounds. The award was presented Nov. 17 at KOA's annual International Convention in Orlando. The past year also marked the campground company's 50th anniversary.
The KOA President's Award is presented annually to campgrounds that receive high scores in customer service from their campers, and top scores in KOA's annual Quality Review. KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year about their KOA camping experience.
"Our KOA owners rely on the feedback they receive from our camping guests to make almost instant changes and improvements to their operations," said KOA President Pat Hittmeier. "KOA owners do a wonderful job a listening to our campers, and I'm proud to be able to recognize the best among the best with the KOA President's Award."
