Plenty of feel-good business at the outset set the tone for the city commission's first formal gathering of 2013 on Tuesday.

The Holiday Parade awards were announced and acknowledged, with an addendum from the city manager, Bob Vitas: The 70 to 75 floats this season made the parade the biggest in its history. Next year, he said, "We may have to close more streets."
