Robert Scholler, 68, of Salem, S.C. passed away on April 10, 2013, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Bob was born to the late Walter and Charlotte Scholler on March 24, 1945, in Pittsburgh, grew up in Miami and eventually settled in Cashiers, N.C. Bob had a lifelong love of the Florida Keys and lived in Key West during the 1970's to the early 1990's where he cultivated his skills as a professional chef at Kelly's Caribbean Bar & Grill and other local establishments. After leaving the Keys, he worked as Top Chef in New York and at the Top of the World in the Poconos, the Contemporary Hotel in Disney World and later the Millstone Inn in Cashiers, N.C.
Bob's joy of life was an inspiration to every person who came into his life and his enduring friendship will be deeply missed.
Bob is survived by his wife Gayla Dominova, his brothers Skip and David, nephew Kyle, and other family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 16, 2013, in Salem, S.C. Bob will be laid to rest next to his youngest brother James in San Antonio National Cemetery.
