Fishermen's boasts father-son team
Board-certified anesthesiologist Jeffery Wolszczak recently joined Fishermen's Community Hospital in Marathon to provide backup coverage when staff anesthesiologists are unavailable. His father, Dr. Andrew Wolszczak is a board-certified urologist and long-time member of Fishermen's medical staff.
Trip Advisor honors Kermit's pie
Kermit's Key West Key Lime Shoppe, 200 Elizabeth St. and 802 Duval St., recently earned a TripAdvisor certificate of excellence as both a top-performing restaurant and shopping destination as reviewed by travelers all over the world.
The accolade honors hospitality excellence and is given to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor, according to a company press release. Only the top-performing 10 percent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive the destination, the release states.
"We strive to offer our customers a deliciously memorable experience during their visit to Key West, and this award is evidence that our hard work is translating into positive reviews on TripAdvisor," said owner Kermit Carpenter.
Centennial congratulates stars
Centennial Bank congratulates the following employees for earning the Star Teller Award: Kathy Elmore in Islamorada and April Serpa in Key West.
"Centennial Bank designed the monthly Star Teller program to showcase the importance of error-free work. Tellers are rewarded for maintaining Centennial Bank's standard of customer service, meaning they have no unscheduled absences, and that for every given number of transactions there are a minimal number of errors. Each Star Teller receives a monetary award and a Golden Star to be placed on his or her name plate, indicating to customers the teller provides stellar customer service." states a press release from the bank.
Centennial Bank also honored Theresa Faber and Carol-Lynn Koltunak for their one-year anniversary at the bank. Koltunak is a teller in the Summerland branch. Faber is a loan officer assistant in Key West.
VNA Hospice welcomes Sovia-Crandon
Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of the Florida Keys (VNA/Hospice) is pleased to welcome Kim Sovia-Crandon as the new development director. She brings more than 25 years of leadership experience, most recently as executive director and chief operating officer for the Good Health Clinic in Tavernier and as the Florida Keys congressional aide to former U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
"Kim will facilitate the development of new funding sources that will help to fulfill our mission, which includes providing for all who need care, to include the indigent and working poor," " President and CEO Jody Gross said in a prepared statement.
Sovia-Crandon lives in Key Largo and will be located at VNA/Hospice's Middle and Upper Keys regional office in Tavernier.
