KEY WEST: Road crews burst a water main about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Eisenhower Drive and Truman Avenue, said Florida Department of Transportation spokesman Dean Walters.
The break sent water spurting into the air and cut off water at health provider Womankind for two hours, staff said. The nonprofit stayed open and planned on reopening on time at 8 a.m. today.
Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority responded to the emergency, which flooded the intersection during the rain.
The closure there is unchanged through July 2: Truman is narrowed to one, outbound lane. Inbound traffic is being detoured to Jose Marti Drive, then Virginia and White streets. Eisenhower is accessible via Palm Avenue only.
