Esteban Gonzalez, 84, of Key West, Fla., passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at Lower Keys Medical Center. Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Santa Clara, Cuba, to the late Antonio and Rosa Maria (Hernandez) Gonzalez, Esteban came to the United States 54 years ago. He was a fisherman by trade.
Surviving are his wife, Maria Caridad Gonzalez of Key West; daughters Maria Elena Gonzalez, Anita (Frank) Zamora and Gricel (Wayne) Owen, all of Key West; brothers Ramon Ignacio Gonzalez and Victor Gonzalez; grandchildren Alejandro (Evalina) Carbonell, Frankie (Brittany) Zamora; Jerika (Luis) Rodriguez, Jason Zamora, Fallon Owen; great-grandchildren Emilee Rodriguez, Sophia Rodriguez, Connor Zamora and Palmer Zamora.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at Dean-Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St., Key West. Visitation will precede the ceremony, starting at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Key West City Cemetery. The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
