The Key West Coast Guard was searching for a missing woman Saturday after her empty 9-foot dinghy was found near Man Key.
Angela Taylor, about 36 years old, lives in a boat anchored off Wisteria Island, according to Command Duty Officer David Gilkison. She was last seen by a friend about 1 a.m. Saturday at Key West Bight, when she left in the Johnson dinghy, which has a Mercury outboard motor, Gilkison said.
The Coast Guard found the dinghy, and Taylor's driver's license, about 10 a.m. Four helicopters, a Coast Guard boat and a cutter, a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission boat, the Key West Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff's Office all were looking for Taylor, Gilkison said about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Man Key is south of Key West Harbor near Woman Key, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Gulf of Mexico.
Anyone with information about Taylor is asked to call 305-292-8729.
