Marina Mosher, 86, of Key West, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at her home. She was born on Feb. 14, 1927, in Key West, Fla., to the late George and Nimia (Crespo) Sikes.
Mrs. Mosher graduated from Florida State University in 1952. She majored in home economics and was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an elementary school teacher in Key West. She taught five years at St. Mary's and 28 years at Truman School and Glynn Archer.
Mrs. Mosher was a talented seamstress and clothing designer. She enjoyed crafts and loved dogs. She played Mrs. Claus to Santa for 28 years for the annual Silverliners Club flight to the North Pole. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time at her second home in North Carolina. She was a member of The Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea.
She was a true Conch and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving is her husband Gerald R. Mosher of Key West; son Michael Wayne (Marjorie) Mosher of Miami, Fla.; daughter Pamela (Erasto) Perez of Key West, Fla.; brother George W. (Jackie) Sikes of Swanee, Ga.; sister Marie Gregory of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren Heather (Ben) Ludwick of Pompano Beach, Fla., Melissa Perez of North Miami Beach, Fla., Brandon Mosher of Ft. Riley, Kan., and Sarah Mosher of Tampa, Fla.
A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea.
The family sends a special thank you to Dr. John Norris, Dr. Anesa Ahamad, Visiting Nurses and Hospice of the Florida Keys.
In lieu of flowers donations maybe given to the S.P.C.A., St. Mary's Catholic Church, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
