In 2013, she was promoted to assistant vice president/ branch administration officer/training manager, before assuming her current role as vice president.
Originally from New Jersey, Kerry has lived in Key West for more than 20 years with her husband.
Babich named general manager of the Year
Each year, the Florida Keys Lodging Association recognizes a general manager from Key West, the Lower Keys and Upper Keys who has done a particularly outstanding job. The recipient should demonstrate exceptional qualities in overseeing his or her property, has inspired staff to high levels of guest service and who has always managed to maintain the composure and grace that is the hallmark of a first class manager.
This year, Matt Babich was named Key West general manager of the year for the second time in his career, and is the only GM to do so.
Babich, GM of the Southernmost Hotel Collection and Southernmost Beach Cafe, does not like to take all of the credit for the success of his career.
"I am honored to have received this award not once, but twice now in my career," he said. "2013 was the year for change at our collection of hotels, and we have conquered it together with our continued passion for hospitality. What has made the Southernmost Hotel Collection an award winning resort, is not only the people who stay here, but the people who work here."
