Mosquito board offers settlement
Agreement would pay $5,000 to host of agency's canceled cable show

The Florida Keys Mosquito Control Board agreed Monday to pay the former host of its ill-fated cable television show $5,000 to settle a breach of contract lawsuit.

If TV host George Murphy accepts the offer, he will receive $5,000 of the $12,000 he would have received had his contract not been canceled. However, Murphy would have to help the agency produce a new video for the...

What a joke.

$5000.00??? Really? This is absolutely laughable. Wait til the taxpayers see the bill for what it will take Monroe County to get themselves out of the hole they’ve dug themselves with No Name Key. The County has already wasted tens of thousands of dollars on legal fees with this ridiculous battle, how much more will be wasted before the 20+ years of discrimination and corruption has ended? Every one of our elected fools that have stepped in the way of No Name electricity should be held financially accountable, not the taxpayers.

George Murphy's services

George Murphy has not worked for Comcast since 2008 and does not represent the company.

Murphy gets paid $5,000 for doing absolutely nothing?

He's shown his colors, for sure. I'll definitely not pay a cent to see him in any local play nor any other production he might be involved in. I hope the people who buy his services with Comcast re-think their budgets as well, if Murphy is involved. Bottom line, the taxpayers always end up paying for corruption such as Fussell's. (He should be forced to pay it.)

Mosquito videos are annoying and interrupt the

broadcast of Noaa weather. The same with the Waste Management video, I don't need to hear MC tout itself, I turn to channel 76 to hear weather and hopefully see the radar. I'm sick of my tax dollars being used to pay off someone when our managers have screwed up. Take it out of the Managers pay.
