Who will run Marathon airport?
Proposed RFP to privatize won't work, say county mayor, city manager

Marathon city and business leaders have long claimed that Monroe County is not doing enough to bring commercial air service to the Florida Keys Marathon Airport.

County airport officials argue that they have made several attempts and even brought in one major carrier in recent years, but the airport never generated enough business to keep a major carrier there.

I forget how much the

I forget how much the terminal cost originally but it was way cheaper then what it would cost today and was a good investment for the future. It's just too bad that the goofs we had on the BOCC and the planning commission didn't push through the sewer project way back when things were cheaper and the Keys waters weren't as polluted as they are now.
