MONROE COUNTY — Homecoming events fill the calendar for high schools in Tavernier and Marathon this week.

Marathon Middle and High School gets an early release Thursday for the annual Homecoming Parade that starts at 1 p.m. from Knights Key and travels north on U.S. 1 to the Publix at Sombrero Beach Road.

The football Dolphins’ Homecoming game against Everglades Prep starts at 4 p.m. Friday at the school. Introduction of the Homecoming Court and crowning of the king and queen follows the game.

Coral Shores High School holds its main Homecoming events Friday, beginning with girls’ Powderpuff football games and the 5 p.m. “Grammy Awards” Homecoming parade on the Old Highway.

The Hurricanes play their Homecoming football game against Berean Christian at 7 p.m. Friday. Introduction of the Homecoming Court and crowning of the queen and king takes place at halftime.
