JUNE WEECH SANCHEZ
June Weech Sanchez, fondly known as June Bug, 78, multigenerational Conch of Key West, Florida, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 at Alto Senior Living in Marietta, Georgia. She was born on Aug. 22, 1941 in Key West to the late Frederick Weech and Bessie Pent. She worked as payroll director for Monroe County Schools before retiring.
She is survived by her two sons Kenneth and Travis Sanchez and four grandchildren Maia, Alice, Justin and Gwen Sanchez, and also is survived by her sisters Judy Walterson and Faye Jaycocks. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Charles Leonard “Sandy” Sanchez, and her sister, Freda Padron.
June was Miss Congeniality and Conchette Captain at Key West High School. She served the community proudly as Conchette Director for many years.
She will be fondly remembered for her ability to make the people around her feel great. An intelligent, patient and caring person, June was somebody people turned to for advice or in times of trouble. The passion in her life was family and the closeness with her sisters bonded cousins like siblings.
June was beloved by all and irreplaceable by those who knew her.
