Marcos Rodriguez was born in Quivican, Havana, Cuba in March 1923. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018 at Key West Health and Rehabilitation Center. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years of marriage, Claudina Rodriguez, his sisters Margarita and Juana, and his brothers Tomas, Miguel and Francisco, of Key West and Cuba. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Acelia and Francisco Plans, of Key West.

Marcos and his brothers worked at Rodriguez Bakery on Bertha Street and, after the bakery closed, he worked for Keys Armored Express until his retirement. He was also known as “El Panadero” and “The Money Man.” He will be remembered and missed dearly by his family and friends that knew, respected, assisted and loved him. Marcos was a faithful member of the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea, followed by a graveside service at the Key West City Cemetery.
