OTTO M. HUEGEL
Otto M. Huegel, 85, of Rising Sun, Maryland, former resident of Tavernier, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on Dec. 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Martin and Marie Schietinger Huegel.
Mr. Huegel was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Valley Forge CV 45. He had worked in the printing industry in northern New Jersey and retired as a purchasing agent for Florida Keys Electric. Mr. Huegel was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Martin Huegel (Carol), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Heidi Magsig (Dan), Surprise, Arizona, Gary Huegel (Julie), Middletown, Delaware, Daniel Huegel (Kari), Yacolt, Washington, and Joshua Huegel (Tracy), Rising Sun, Maryland; 26 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Huegel was preceded in death by his wife, Greta Hallstrom Huegel; first wife, Eileen Blomquist Huegel; and brothers, Gerhart and Walter Huegel.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, 2038 Pleasant Valley Road, Newark, Delaware, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow the service in Bay View Cemetery, Bay View, Maryland.
