PATRICIA RAMOS ZURHEIDE
Patricia “Pantalones” Ramos Zurheide, 46, of Key West, Florida passed away on Aug. 22, 2018. She was born on Feb. 6, 1972 in Madrid, Spain to Alejandro Ramos and Mercedes Rodriguez. She was raised in Madrid, Spain by her parents and younger brother Victor. She moved to New York to live with a part of her family, later moving from Queens to Shelter Island.
In the early 1990s, Patricia moved to Key Wes, where she would meet her future husband, Jack Zurheide. They would have two amazing daughters Gabriela and Alejandra. Patricia was known for crazy colorful pants she would wear everywhere, which is why she was given the name “Pantalones.” She was a lover of all things, especially dogs. Patricia always managed to get the unhealthiest dogs that would end up costing a fortune. She loved taking the dogs to the beach every single morning.
Many also know her as the lady who got volunteers for anything. She probably spent more time helping others at The Basilica School than herself. Patricia would show up in her jean skirt, tank top, cowboy hat, Uggs boots and a camera to every Rockin Roast, Mariners March and fish fry. She loved volunteering and helping people around her.
She is survived by her parents Mercedes Rodriguez and Alejandro Ramos of Madrid, Spain; husband, Jack Zurheide; daughters Gabriela and Alejandra Zurheide of Key West; brother Victor Ramos of Madrid, Spain; mother-in-law, Ann Zurheide of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; sister-in-laws Judy Zurheide of Nantucket, Massachusetts, Wendy (Rick) Koll, their children Kyle and Andrew Koll of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Debbie (Mike) Schmidt, their children Joey and Tommy Schmidt of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Numerous other family members survive. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Zurheide.
A funeral mass will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe given to Gabriela and Alejandra Zurheide. The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
