The Housing Authority of the City of Key West, Florida (the Housing Authority), will receive sealed bids on the following contract to perform Electrical Services until 5:00 pm on March 19, 2018 at 1400 Kennedy Drive, Key West, Florida 33040 at which time and place, all bids will be publicly opened and read. The initial contract will be from April 01, 2018 through December 31, 2018 with the possibility of two additional one year extensions. Bids received after the submission deadline will be deemed non-responsive.

CONTRACT: PLUMBING SERVICES

Provide plumbing services beyond the routine capabilities of the maintenance department on an as needed basis from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday from the City of Key West to Big Coppitt Key, Florida. Emergency plumbing services will be any hours other than 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

Proposed forms of bid documents will be on file as of February 26, 2018 at the Housing Authority of the City of Key West, Florida, 1400 Kennedy Drive, Key West, Florida and may be picked up from the front desk between the hours of 8 am and 12 noon, and 1 pm and 5 pm., Monday through Friday or via electronic mail (singw@kwha.org) upon request. Prior to the start of the work, the successful bidder must furnish a General Liability Insurance Certificate to the Housing Authority in an amount not less than $500,000, and the following types of insurance’s are to be in force: Worker’s Compensation, Automobile Liability for all Vehicles/Equipment to be used in the work, and any other types required when performing work of this nature. The contractor must have a current occupational and trade license required by local ordinances.

BREEZY PINES WASTEWATER AND WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT- BIG PINE KEY

Sealed Proposals for Breezy Pines RV Park will be received at the Engineering Department of the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA), 1100 Kennedy Drive, Key West, Florida 33040, until 2:00 p.m., local time on the 14 th day of March, 2018 and then will be publicly opened and read. Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered.

The proposed project consists of approximately 2,105 linear feet of 8-inch gravity (PVC SDR 26) sewer mains, gravity sewer manholes sewer laterals with cleanouts, lift station wet-well, and 3” force main (PVC C900 DR18).

As an alternate addition to the project, the work will also consist of approximately 2,440 linear feet of new 4-inch, potable water main (PVC C900 DR18) and water services. The location of the work is in Breezy Pines Park in Big Pine Key.

A mandatory Pre-bid Meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, March 7th, 2018_at 10:00am at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, Conference Room at 1100 Kennedy Drive, Key West, Florida 33040.

Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid.

The Contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting he lowest combined unit cost-lump sum price proposal, accepted by the FKAA.

All bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company having his place of business in the State of Florida, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Florida. Further, the said surety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Florida.

In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall hold or obtain such Contractors’ and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes.

Before a Contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the FKAA will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the FKAA to evaluate the Bidder’s qualifications.

The FKAA reserves the right to reject all Proposals where the FKAA deems rejection to be in its best interest, or to reject any Proposal not in compliance with the Contract Documents. The FKAA reserves the right to waive any informalities and irregularities in said Proposals.

Firms are hereby placed on formal notice that neither the FKAA Board of Directors, nor any employees of the FKAA are to be lobbied either individually or collectively concerning this project.

The Governing Board of Directors of the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid, and to award to any party considered to be in the best interest of the Authority.
